RIP Dragon Rulers

For all Yugioh players, you should know who these 4 dragons are. For those that don't know, they are, as in order (give credit to the owner of the images above, I do not own them):

Blaster, Dragon Ruler of Infernos
Tidal, Dragon Ruler of Waterfalls
Tempest, Dragon Ruler of Storms
Redox, Dragon Ruler of Boulders

In the year 2013, I didn't really care too much for these dragons, or even heard of them for that matter, and was too busy with my Lightsworn build. I was a victim of constant butt kicking from the Dragon Ruler themed deck that were built around them in online duelings. Eventually, the 4 dragons went from Unlimited to Limited on the Yugioh ban list, due to their ability to change a game at any given moment with the simplest way of special summoning. With their ability they can perform easy access to Synchro Summons as well as Xyz Summons with excellent Rank 7 monsters, such as Number 11: Big Eye and Mecha Phantom Beast Dracossack just to name a few.

Eventually, in the Summer/Fall seasons in 2013, the Dragon Rulers were re-released in Collector Tins and were available in Secret Rare cards. I bought each of the tins, and decided to try a new Lightsworn build with the Dragon Rulers in it, the "Lightsworn Rulers" or "Dragon-sworn", I preferred the former. With the Lightsworn's ability to mill, and cards like Eclipse Wyvern put into the deck, the Dragon Rulers were the best combo put into the Lightsworn deck, and I worked with it in the later year of 2013 and all of 2014.

Unfortunately, things like this aren't meant to last, especially when a card more broken then these four is made. With the upcoming ban list, scheduled for tomorrow as I write this (I'm serious btw), all 4 dragons have been bumped from Limited to Banned. I've come to respect the Dragon Rulers, and all I gotta say is that hopefully Number 95: Galaxy-Eyes Dark Matter Dragon will get banned one day, and you will come back again someday. But with Charge of the Light Brigade bumped to two, the Lightsworn deck should see some good play again on their own. I won't forget today with five straight wins, including sweeping the Qli deck 2-0 in a match, to say my farewell to you guys, that will always stick with me. So Dragon Rulers, until we meet again, Stay Gold............ Bang.
